Create / Edit Vehicles (Garage)

To create your vehicles, tap on Garage from the app home page.

  • If this is your first vehicle, you will see a ? in middle of screen. Tap the + symbol on right side of screen to add your vehicle to your garage.
  • To add a second vehicle, swipe left to show another ? with + symbol on right side of screen.
  • Tap the make of the car you want to create then the model. You have many options on the next screen:
    • Name: Allows you to name your vehicle.
    • Options: Select body style and roof style.
    • Axles/Wheels: Allows you to select what type of wheels and axles you want.
    • Spare Wheels: Allows you to choose the placement of your spare wheel(s).
    • Tires: Allows you to adjust your tire size.
    • Lift: Allows you to adjust the lift of your car.
    • Body Color:
      • Edit Color of your entire car.
      • Child Panels allows you to edit the color of each child panel separately.
    • Make sure to add (save) your vehicle when pop up appears if you desire.
    • When there are multiple vehicles in your garage, tap on the check mark on the left hand side of screen to make this vehicle the active one you will use for your adventure.

Update / Install New Vehicles (Get Vehicles)

Allows you to download and update only the vehicle makes and models you want to add to your garage.

  • You will see an icon/button for the makes and models available for download.
  • The number of available makes and models will continue to grow. Please feel free to suggest particular makes and models that you would like to see in Air Down.
  • Below each icon you should see "Up to Date". If "Update" appears instead, tap on icon to bring your model up to date.
  • In the top right hand corner you will see an update icon when new models come available. Be sure to check this section occasionally for new downloads.

Clinometer

Our clinometer tool is available in free evaluation/trial mode and in-app purchase once the trial time has expired. The trial mode lasts for 5 minutes; the timer only runs when you're in the clinometer section of the app.

  • Roll: Gauge on left side of screen is the roll angle of your car (example: your left side of car is much higher than right or vice versa).
    • Tap on icon to change your view, front or rear.
    • Based on the limit you set in the Settings section, these icons will turn red and sound an alarm when you reach your threshold.
  • Pitch: Gauge on right side of screen is the pitch angle of your car (example: your car is heading down hill at a decline or uphill at an incline).
    • Tap on icon to change your view, left or right.
    • Based on the limit you set in the Settings section, these icons will turn red and sound an alarm when you reach your threshold.
  • Heading: Compass in middle of screen between Roll and Pitch.
    • Gives north, south, east, west heading.
    • Tap on icon to change your view from N-S-E-W to degree of heading.
  • Sound: You can turn your alarm sounds off by tapping on the sound icon in bottom right hand corner.
  • Screen Rotate: Tap on screen rotate icon in bottom left hand corner to flip your app view.
  • Calibration Icon: Tap on the calibration icon in top right hand corner to zero out your pitch and roll on flat ground. Should be done on flat, level ground.
  • If you have a device that supports a GPS (all iPhones and iPads with 3G/4G) then you will see a speed icon on left and elevation icon on right once the device obtains a GPS fix. Tap on the speed icon to see your horizontal accuracy and tap the elevation icon to see your vertical accuracy.

Addons

This section contains the different addons available for Air Down. Currently the Clinometer addon is the only one available. Additional addons coming soon.

Settings

General

  • Units of measure
    • Metric: this unit measures millimeters, meters, kilometers, etc.
    • Imperial: this unit measures inches, feet, miles, etc.
  • Background: Here you can change the background to use behind your vehicle.
    • None/Blank: No image but you can change color to your preference.
    • Default: The Air Down graphic icon, with ability to change color.
    • Custom: Choose a picture or image from your Photos library, also with ability to change color.

Clinometer

  • Pitch Limit: Set your pitch threshold by degree.
    • Your pitch threshold or limit is the maximum pitch you want your car to reach before alarming you.
    • A 30 degree pitch limit means your car can pitch to 30 degrees when off-roading before an alarm will sound.
  • Pitch Alarm: Set the type of alarm you will hear when your vehicle reaches the limit you set for pitch. (types: Beep, Alarm sound, Siren, None)
  • Velocity Units: Select between miles/km per hour or meters/feet per second.
  • Roll Limit: Set your roll threshold by degree.
    • Your roll threshold or limit is the maximum roll you want your car to reach before alarming you.
    • A 30 degree roll limit means your car can roll to 30 degrees when off roading before an alarm will sound.
  • Roll Alarm: Set the type of alarm you will hear when your vehicle reaches the limit you set for roll. (types: Beep, Alarm sound, Siren, None)
